Shield Liger Commander SP

In 2007, TAKARA TOMY released this limited edition Shield Liger, only available for purchase online on a Zoids online game website. They were produced in a small amount, just enough for those who ordered, some claimed only 1000 units produced. The Shield Liger came in pearl red armor, metallic dark grey body.

Shield Liger Commander SP comes with a black set of CP-01 and an additional Commander’s special sprue (in red also) contained top part for the head of Shield Liger, a bigger gun to mount on the back, a new part at the rear to connect the springs of the CP-01 and lastly a pair of long guns mounted below the gun under Shield Liger.

The manual came with it is a Shield Liger MK-II manual and an additional manual for the extra sprue. It also came with a letter claims this is a limited edition item and was signed by the infamous wrestler Liger Jushin from Japan, a Zoids battle card also included, it seems to be the Shield Liger Commander SP’s pilot picture on the card. Liger Blue Souga Gusoku Myoko

This CAS was only available for Liger Blue Souga as a mail-in offer; the CAS was cast from resin, as opposed to plastic, and came unpainted. While the Liger Blue Souga was limited to a thousand items, the CAS to only a few hundred. There are 2 type of boxes, the first one to release contains an disassemble resin figurine of Midori, while the second type doesn’t have the figurine but include an unpainted resin Midori pilot (as seen in photo below). Jollibee Murasame Liger

Jollibee Philippines gave out this Murasame Liger as a toy for kid meal in 2007, it was exclusively made for Jollibee only by TOMY. Jollibee Murasame Liger is the same size as Quick Kit Murasame Liger, but with better build, the legs can only move back and forward, blade mounted on the back can fold and unfold.

SD Molga

Super Deformed (SD) Molga was released along with other 15 SD Zoids as pullback toy back in the 80-90′s. They are small and very popular especially the SD Molga, many collectors are after SD Molga more than other SD Zoids since they appear for sale quite often unlike SD Molga.

SD Molga was released under a few other series as well as different packaging, such as SD Molga and a few other SD Zoids all packed in one box, or just individual SD Zoids pack in seperate on card, and also in another series where they are molded in just one plain color like blue, yellow. Gilvader (RCZ)

First released as the same time as King Gojulas in the 90′s, Gilvader was very popular then, the limited production quickly made it a rarity becoming one of the most desirable Zoids figures for collectors after the run. Gilvader was a part of the Grade-Up Zoids which have the extra connectors to combine with other Grade-Up custom parts.

The first re-release of Gilvader was under the Zoids Genesis anime series with a new name Gildragon, featured in white and blue color. And now the original color of Gilvader is re-released under Rebirth Century Zoids series, which is very welcome by many Zoids collectors all around the world. The re-release version costs 9,000JPY while the original back in the 90′s costs around 6,000JPY. Read more

King Gojulas (RCZ)

First released in 1990, the kit was very expensive even then and was the largest model produced by Tomy. Limited production quickly made it a rarity becoming one of the most desirable Zoids figures for collectors after the run. King Gojulas was a part of the Grade-Up Zoids which have the extra connectors to combine with other Grade-Up custom parts.

The re-release King Gojulas is in Rebirth Century Zoids series, together with many older Zoids release and a few newer design Zoids. The RCZ version costs 12,000JPY while the original King Gojulas in the 90′s only costs 9,000JPY. The model is exactly the same with the same sticker sheet, nothing has changed since the original release. Read more

Anime 10th Edition Shield Liger

To celebrate 10 years since the first Zoids anime series – Zoids Chaotic Century, Tomy Takara is releasing 2 anniversary Zoids – Anime 10th Edition Shield Liger and Iron Kong SS.

This new edition Shield Liger features:

  • A new light blue shade armor
  • 2 versions of the same sprues (silver and gold) consist of fangs, claws and tail gun
  • A sprue of Van, Fiona and Zeek figures similar to those came with the Blade Ligers
  • A chrome gold pilot
  • A clear canopy comes with blue painted tip to match the armor shade

A diorama art statue released by TOMY in 2005 features a Liger Zero Phoenix with a ready-to-fight stance in a outback settings with rocks. The statue comes with 2 parts, the background scene and the Liger Zero Phoenix, it is nicely painted with weathered effects, size measures about 20cm x 20cm x 20cm, and weights approximately 1kg-1.5kg. HMM Blade Liger AB Leon Ver.

The second version of HMM Blade Liger, a limited version features red color armor like the original Blade Liger Leon Version but also includes a pair of Attack Boosters, thus the name Blade Liger AB. This HMM Blade Liger was released on mid September 2008, just like the normal HMM Blade Liger, it comes with 2 pilots, and sprues that contains extra parts originally from HMM Shield Liger. Interesting things on this releases are the box is marked with a red circle logo with ‘iR-I’ written on it, and instead of the usual Kotobukiya logo, Takara Tomy logo was shown instead. Read more
