In 2004, Hasbro released a second version of the Shield Liger. While similar in colour, several of the armour frames were moulded in semi-transparent blue plastic. The Holotech Shield Liger was one of the last Zoids released in the New American Release, and received only very limited distribution, mostly in Canada.

Hayate Liger Special Edition was produced in the same year of 2005 as the normal version of Hayate Liger. The Special Edition comes with holotech sprues which replace the normal solid red, black and white, though the yellow and silver sprues stay the same as the normal version. The pilot also in grey color as usual.

Another version of the Liger Zero Phoenix was released in Japan in 2004, as a part of the Fuzors model line. This version reverted back to the original black and white colour scheme of the Liger Zero, the Phoenix was recoloured in metallic red and clear yellow. The Zoid came with a small R.D. figure in place of the standard pilot figure.
